Racing and golf perfect blend for Del Mar resident

Del Mar resident Paul Galli makes his living in the golf business.

The native Australian is a partner in Pro-Sport Management, a company that serves as agents and managers to golfers. Galli currently represents three golfers-2012 Masters Champion Bubba Watson, Geoff Ogilvy and Aaron Baddeley.

As a child, Galli began following horse racing in his native Australia. He has owned racehorses since 1991, and at one time partnered with family members on good the Aussie runners Miss Marauding and Rose of Taluq. Galli has also owned horses in the U.S., notching wins at both Santa Anita and Hollywood Park. He has yet to have one win at Del Mar, but he plans to keep trying.

“One’s my livelihood, the other is my passion.” said Galli of his work in golf and his interest in racing. “In both golf and horse racing, you spend a lot more time losing than winning.”
