A 54-year-old salesman from Burnsville, Minnesota led the 12th annual Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas after day one of the two-day event.

Thomas Anderson hit seven winners and a big place bet to grab the lead with a score of $182.  The 301 NHC finalists make 15 mythical win and place bets each day.  Anderson’s key score was a $42 winner in the third race at Gulfstream Park.
