Medina draws hefty 30-day suspension from SA stewards

Jockey Jesiere Medina was suspended for 30 racing days for an incident of careless riding that led to a two-horse spill in the 9th race at Santa Anita April 14.

Medina, 23, works primarily as an exercise rider at Santa Anita. In a statement issued by the Santa Anita stewards, Medina was cited “…for exhibiting gross carelessness for crossing over without sufficient clearance and causing interference, which resulted in an accident and the disqualification of her mount.”
