Krigger released from hospital following fall
Jockey Kevin Krigger was released from the hospital Friday evening following a harrowing spill at Santa Anita Friday afternoon when his mount clipped heels with another competitor. Krigger was briefly unconscious at the track and underwent a MRI as a precaution before his release. He’s expected to return to regular mounts Monday, and hoped to be working horses Sunday morning.
“It was a good day until that incident,” said fellow jockey Garret Gomez. “Any minor adjustment and that stuff can happen. People don’t understand how tight it is out there.”
