Jockey Gallyn Mitchell is recovering following a two-horse spill at Turf Paradise December 23, according to wife and agent Denise Mitchell. The rider suffered a fractured ankle, fractured spine, and minor hearing loss after his mount, Mark of Mischief, fell in the final turn. Mitchell was then clipped by oncoming entry You Make Me Blue. He is expected to return to the saddle in about two weeks.
