The catalogue for the 2012 Tattersalls July Sale is out now and can also be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com. Numbering 678 lots primarily comprising fillies/horses in training and broodmares, the three day sale takes place Wednesday 11th – Friday 13th July and features consignments from the world’s leading owner/breeders including Cheveley Park Stud, Darley, Juddmonte Farms, and Shadwell Estates.

The Tattersalls July Sale has had a remarkable run of results in the past three years with the dams of the Breeders’ Cup winning pair ST NICHOLAS ABBEY and WROTE, the Group 1 winners TOGETHER, WOOTTON BASSETT and MUSIC SHOW and the multiple Group 2 winner CASPAR NETSCHER, all sourced at Europe’s leading midsummer sale.

The largest consignment, numbering 47 lots comes from Prince Khalid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farms. Fillies from the direct families of Juddmonte superstars ALL AT SEA, DANEHILL, ELMAAMUL, EVA LUNA, OASIS DREAM, WEMYSS BIGHT, WINCE and XAAR all look set to attract plenty of interest as do the 22 Juddmonte colts and geldings also catalogued.

The second largest consignment of 37 lots comes from Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum’s Shadwell Stud. Amongst the Shadwell three-year-old fillies are daughters of top sires CAPE CROSS, DIXIE UNION, ELUSIVE QUALITY, GREEN DESERT, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KINGMAMBO and NAYEF.

Amongst more than 90 broodmares, which all sell on the first day of the July Sale, are mares in foal to proven Group 1 sires ELUSIVE CITY, HALLING, HIGH CHAPARRAL, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KYLLACHY, MEDICEAN, ROCK OF GIBRALTAR and ZAMINDAR.

In addition the catalogue also features mares in foal to exciting young sires ARCANO, CANFORD CLIFFS, DREAM AHEAD, DUTCH ART, EQUIANO, INTENSE FOCUS, LAWMAN, LOPE DE VEGA, MASTERCRAFTSMAN, MOUNT NELSON, SAKHEE’S SECRET, SHIROCCO, SIR PERCY, SIXTIES ICON and THEWAYYOUARE.

There are also 10 mares with foals at foot by proven and promising sires including COMPTON PLACE, NOTNOWCATO and SIR PERCY.

International and domestic buyers will also have no shortage of choice amongst the horses in training. The John Gosden trained pair of the Listed winning five-year-old BEACHFIRE, a winner at Royal Ascot last year and the Group placed four-year-old BUTHELEZI, third in the Group 2 Prince of Wales’s Stakes last July, will attract plenty of attention. Others of interest include the Group placed pair TOO MUCH TROUBLE and RODRIGO DE TORRES as well as the Listed winning mare BALERINA and the Listed placed filly SONNING ROSE.
