Scat Daddy Scat Daddy

Outstanding young sire Scat Daddy posted a rare Grade I trifecta in Chile where Solaria (2f Scat Daddy x So Linda, by Seeker’s Reward) defeated Dalala (2f Scat Daddy x Daja, by Seeker’s Reward) and Lemon Pretty (2f Scat Daddy x Lemon Classic, by Lemon Drop Kid) to win the Clasico Atruro Lyon Pena.

Trained by Patricio Baeza, Solaria scored a dominant victory in the one mile event on turf, cruising clear of her rivals to win by four and a half lengths, her overall record now five wins and a third from six starts.

Already a multiple Grade III winner this season, Solaria becomes the third Grade I winner for Scat Daddy and is his second in Chile following on from El Bromista (2c (Scat Daddy x Bresca, by Seeker’s Reward), who recently won the Grade I Clasico Alberto Vial Infante and is also trained by Patricio Baeza.

Solaria is the best of five winners from stakes-winner So Linda and is bred on the same cross as El Bromista, both youngsters from daughters of the Gone West stallion Seeker’s Reward.

Scat Daddy stands at Coolmore America for a fee of $30,000 for the 2013 season.
