Salute the Sarge sires first winner
Lousiana-based multiple graded winning juvenile, SALUTE THE SARGE sired his first career winner yesterday when FISHIN FRANK won his second career start at Evangeline by five lengths. The maiden special weight winner was second in his debut May 16.
With six starters already, the win catapulted the son of Forest Wildcat to the second spot on the freshman sire list today. FISHIN FRANK was bred by Jay Adcock in Louisiana and races for owner Philip Henderson. Out of the Blushing John mare Easytoblush, FISHIN FRANK was conceived in Kentucky at Walmac Farm where SALUTE THE SARGE stood his first three years at stud.
Now standing at Adcock’s Red River Farms in Coushatta, Louisiana, SALUTE THE SARGE also sired the highest priced juvenile colt at $105,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Texas Two-Year-Olds Sale in April.
A precocious juvenile SALUTE THE SARGE was the fourth highweight on the Experimental. He stands for $2,500 live foal at Red River Farms.
