Graded Stakes Winner Zanjero to Stand in Turkey for 2014

Multiple graded stakes winner Zanjero is preparing to relocate overseas following his purchase by Turkish interests.

According to the Blood-Horse, Zanjero has been put into the mandatory 30-day quarantine at a Lexington, Ky., farm before he is scheduled to ship to Turkey on Jan. 13. He will stand at the Jockey Club of Turkey's Karacabey National Stud for a fee of 6,000 Turkish Lira, approximately $3,000. He previously stood at Milllenium Farms near Lexington for $7,500.

The Grade 2 Indiana Derby-winner is a 9-year-old son of Cherokee Run out of the A.P. Indy dam Checkered Flag. From 18 starts, Zanjero had six wins, five seconds and four thirds for lifetime earnings of $1,620,786.
