Lotka, winner of the 1986 Grade 1 Acorn Stakes, died Sept. 10 at Our Mims Retirement Haven at age 30. The mare had been a resident at Our Mims since 2008.

A daughter of Danzig, Lotka ran as a homebred for the late Henryk de Kwiatkowski's Kennelot Stable. Lotka raced three years, winning 10 of 20 starts, with eight stakes victories. Trained throughout her career by Woody Stephens, Lotka also captured the Grade 3 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland.

Lotka also excelled as a broodmare, producing nine winners from 11 foals to race, including Grade/Group 3 winners, Lotta Dancing and Mambo Twist.

Lotka was buried at Our Mims Retirement Haven.
