Three-time Breeders’ Cup Mile champion Goldikova gave birth to her first foal Sunday, reported Coolmore Stud in Ireland.

The colt, by top stallion Galileo, was born Sunday at Coolmore’s operation in County Tipperary. French Racing News posted a photo of mare and baby on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

Coolmore also reported that Goldikova would breed back to Galileo this season.

Goldikova, an 8-year-old daughter of Anabaa, won 17 of her 27 career starts and earned more than $7.1 million. She won 14 Group or Grade 1 events, including the BC Mile three years in a row.

If I owned that mare I would want to live forever to see all the unbelievable runners she is going to produce.  It is just mind boggling.

      Yep-can you just imagine?

Could throw a Graded Stakes horse, a couple of stakes
      winners, and some allowance winners.
Can any champions come from this
      cross?
I’m just reminded of all the great mares sent to
      Secretariat.

WOW I am so happy for Goldikova, her owners gave her the respect she deserves to retire healthy and live a comtented live as a broodmare. I followed her wonderful career now I am anxious to see her baby

I had the good fortune to see her win her 1st Breeder Cup in 2008 at Oak Tree. Little did we know she would be back again and again !!

Golden Child indeed! Goldikova is one of my all-time favorite girls (even if she did beat my beloved the late, great Kip Deville) That Galileo gets around…

Such a happy moment.  Pictures, please!  In Spring, all horse fans are pacing the floors waiting for the little ones to come along.  Golden Child – a good description for the colt.

Congratulations to my girl! If this boy is even close to Mama, he’s going to be a super star! Goldikova: horse of the world!
