Five-time Grade 1 winner and 2011 Breeders’ Cup Mile hero Court Vision had his first mare pronounced in foal on Monday. The 7-year-old stands at Michael and Laurel Byrne’s Park Stud in Ontario, Canada as property of Spendthrift Farm.

Coogee Sunrise, the dam of 2011 stakes-placed juvenile One More Deal, is the first reported mare to be in foal to Court Vision. Coogee Sunrise, by Deputy Commander, is owned in Canada by Garland Williamson. There were two additional mares checked in foal on Tuesday.

Court Vision retired to Park Stud for 2012 following a stellar career that culminated with a win in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) in his final start last November. Aside from his five Grade 1 triumphs, the multimillionaire also owns graded wins in the Remsen S. (G2) and Iroquois S. (G3) on dirt as a juvenile.

A son of Gulch, Court Vision is out of a half-sister to champion sire and leading sire of sires A.P. Indy. He stands his first season at stud for a fee of $10,000 stands and nurses.

Court Vision is one of my very favorite boys. He never got the attention I felt he deserved. I’m sure he’ll have great babies.
