Eclipse Award winner Groupie Doll will visit Tapit this year for her initial breeding, it's been reported by the Daily Racing Form.
The 6-year-old mare by Bowman's Band was purchased by Mandy Pope for $3.1 million at the 2013 Keeneland November Breeding Stock sale. Groupie Doll was then returned to training, and finished fourth in the G1 Cigar Mile. Groupie Doll is scheduled to make one last start before being retired, either in the G3 Hurricane Bertie Stakes on Feb. 9 at Gulfstream Park, or the G2 Santa Monica Stakes on Jan. 25 at Santa Anita Park.
The DRF also reports that Pope's other high-profile broodmares – 2011 Horse of the Year Havre de Grace, Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty, and Betterbetterbetter, will all be bred to War Front in 2014.
