Big shoes to fill: Full brother to Frankel born Feb. 2

Undefeated Frankel has a new baby brother after his dam, Kind, foaled a Galileo colt at Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket Feb. 2.

Unlike his famous older brother – or any of his siblings for that matter – the new arrival is a bright chestnut with a wide blaze on his face. Juddmonte Farm made the announcement on its website Thursday; Banstead Manor Stud manager Simon Mockridge described the foal as “attractive with size and scope.”

In addition to Frankel, the chestnut colt is also a full brother to stakes winner Noble Mission, and a half brother to stakes winner Bullet Train.

Kind will be bred back to Galileo this season.

Poor little baby…only someone with the talent, beauty, charisma and fame of Secretariat can compete with and overshadow Frankel and nobody, but nobody, is in Secretariat’s league so I repeat, poor little baby…

  So was Noble Mission also a “poor little baby”? The Group 3 winning horse is a full brother to Frankel and happily running (8 starts 3-4-0) without any need for sympathy.

Thank God these little foals can’t comprehend or understant the pressure and microscope they are under being a full sibling to such a famous horse. I remember when the first full brother to Barbaro was born, and how much hype he was expected to fulfill when he ran. Any human would probably crack under the pressure. That being said..Nicanor did bring a wealth of fans to consistently follow the horse and the sport. Hope this little one can do the same.

Kind is a fantastic dam, and I could just hug her sweet face. A fun 3 1/2 minutes worth watching, where she is, I believe, in foal with this particular foal. And thank you, Pnkt, for giving us the history lesson into this foal’s blaze!! Beautiful little guy…congrats to all…
