Frank Stronach's Adena Springs Farm has announced 2013 stud fees for 18 stallions standing in Kentucky, New York and Ontario, Canada. All 2013 seasons are being offered on Stands and Nurses terms.
The Kentucky roster is lead by Awesome Again, who will stand the 2013 season for a $75,000 fee. He's the co-leading active sire of Breeders' Cup winners with four and ranks among the active leaders with 12 career Grade 1 winners, including Game on Dude and Paynter in 2012. Awesome Again's Horse of the Year son Ghostzapper is in the midst of his best year as a stallion with 14 stakes winners and 10 graded winners, ranking second behind only Giant's Causeway in that category. The 2012 Hall of Fame inductee will stand for a $40,000 fee.
Macho Uno, whose multiple graded stakes-winning son Mucho Macho Man ran a game second in the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), will stand for $20,000. Among Macho Uno's other 2012 graded winners are Hollywood Oaks (G2) winner Potesta and West Virginia Derby (G2) victor Macho Macho. The Adena Springs Kentucky roster is rounded out by 5-time Grade 1 winner Einstein ($7,500), Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo ($5,000) and his multiple Grade 1-winning half-brother winner Tiago ($3,500), who returns to service after missing 2012 to recover from colic surgery.
The Adena Springs Canada roster features three of the Top 10 sires in Canada and the country's top Second Crop sire. Milwaukee Brew ($10,000), North Light ($7,500) and Sligo Bay ($6,000) all rank among the Top 10 General Sires in Canada and North Light is also the leading sire of stakes winners in Ontario and the #1 Turf sire in Canada. Silent Name ($5,000) ranks as the clear #1 Canadian Second Crop sire in 2012 with over $1.5 million in progeny earnings.
