As usual, the photos are breathtaking.  I didn’t watch I’ll Have Another’s retirement ceremony…too painfull still.  But Union Rags put on such a great show…I just adore the boy.  And if the lovely and talented Winter Memories could not win, then I’m glad the equally lovely and talented Tapitsfly won. Wow, that Tapit really knows how to make beautiful babies.  This was a great weekend of racing except for Giant Ryan getting hurt. Please Lord protect this boy and allow him to get well.

 Yes, well said!!  Tapitsfly is something, you can just see the intelligence and mischief in her eyes, too.  I thought the retirement ceremony was rather glossed over in the NBC coverage; frankly I was grateful on that score because it is so painful for all concerned.  Not that I’m seeking to be “head in the sand” but masochism doesn’t cut it, either.  God bless IHA and big prayers again for Giant Ryan. 

I’ve heard and seen some “noise” re:  Johnny V being overly generous with the whip on Union Rags; I will say that my HDTV is big for my family room and the picture is so great you can just about see up the horse’s noses–I didn’t see Johnny V do anything untoward.  Some people just need to chill out…
