From the Baffert sweep of the divisions of the Southwest Stakes to Union Rags’ impressive return performance in the Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream, it was a busy week for racing, and our friends at EquiSport Photos did another masterful job in capturing the beauty of the game for this edition of Photos of the Week.

Gorgeous shots, illustrating the reasons why I LOVE horses and everything to do with them…  :-)

ditto your comment JC. The fun of handicapping and the beauty of the horses is what needs to be marketed. Gotta figure out some way to fill in the 25 – 30 minutes between races for our microwave society. Of course it can take longer than that to handicap a race, but first people have to learn how to read the PPs…and that’s no easy matter! It’s a whole lot easier to pull a handle, but I’ll take a shot at 1 entry out of 9 rather than the odds of winning (?) by pulling a handle any day. There is nothing like the thrill and beauty of a great horse and horse race.

Where can we purchase the “Union Rags” hat as worn by the gentleman standing between Julian and Michael?
