Today, the Paulick Report launches the first episode of its new online radio show, the Around the Track Podcast presented by Taylor Made.
On Around the Track, you'll hear how personalities in the world of Thoroughbred racing got their starts, funny and poignant stories from their lives and careers, and discussion of issues important to the industry.
The podcast is hosted by Scott Jagow, editor-in-chief of the Paulick Report, who spent nearly two decades in radio and television, most notably hosting the popular radio business program, Marketplace, on NPR stations nationwide.
The first episode features Michael Blowen, founder of Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farms. Starting with his days as a movie critic for the Boston Globe, Blowen has some wonderful tales to tell — thank you notes from actor Jimmy Stewart, an unexpected week at the racetrack with director John Huston, turning a $20 bill into a million bucks, and of course, how a film critic winds up caring for Kentucky Derby winners and other racehorses of the past.
You can listen to Around the Track below but you can also download it (by clicking on the cloud button on the player). It's also available on iTunes and other podcast apps.
