The Rail: Back for BC with plenty of storylines

The New York Times’ “The Rail” blog is back for coverage of the 2011 Breeders’ Cup.  Turf writer Joe Drape says this BC has plenty of storylines to cover, starting with Havre de Grace in the Breeders’ Cup Classic:

“Think of it as a battle of the sexes rubber match. In 2009, Zenyatta beat the boys, and last year, she came into the Classic unbeaten but came up a head short to a colt named Blame in a race for the ages.”

“Havre de Grace has won five of six this year, including an impressive triumph over five male rivals in the Woodward Stakes at Saratoga. But she’s never met a field as deep as this one.”
