Believe it or not prior to the advent of synthetic tracks horses ran bad races for all sorts of reasons. I remember the excuses as I am sure most of Paulicks readers do. All of these reasons have been thrown under the bus now that an easy excuse is readily available if a horse is switching from dirt to synthetic. By the way - all dirt tracks are not the same either - for people with short or non existent memories.</description>
