NY RACING AND WAGERING BOARD SEEKS LIFETIME BAN FOR PARAGALLO

Convicted horse abuser Ernie Paragallo may have walked out of prison recently on $10,000 as he appeals the ruling of the Greene County court, but according to NY Racing and Wagering Board spokesman Joe Mahoney, he will be facing other challenges as well. The board seeks to ban Paragallo from racing for life.

The board will not wait for the results of his appeal to make their decision. "We would proceed independently of what is happening with the criminal matter," said Mahoney.

Good to see NY step up to the plate.
I wish I could believe the Jockey Club would deny him privileges as well, but being the cowards they are, I doubt it very much.

  2. Burton DeWitt Says:

The joke is that this is even an issue. Paragallo should be banned as a matter of fact, not as the result of the board meeting and debating this. If Paragallo is ever allowed to own horses again, something is brutally and fatally wrong with the system.

  3. MintHill Says:

I see it as a no brainer, as we all do, why do they even need to meet on this? He was found guilty, period. It should be the end of Paragallo’s involvement in racing in NY and every other state.

  4. GregJ. Says:

No brainer indeed! Not just New York, He should be Banned Everywhere! While I know this will never happen, Which is sad, But, It should! Paragallo is lower then low, Pathetic!

He was convicted pure and simple. He should be banned from every race track in the country. This and many other things gives the racing community a very bad name and it’s time they step up and take action. As for me I wish that when he was in jail that he only had bread and water to see how he likes being hungry though I doubt it would ever happen. Why do the elite think they can get away with anything they want or maybe it’s true….THEY CAN.
