DAVID WILLIAMS IS A WHAT?

Robin Webb, the Kentucky Democratic Senator the horse industry helped elect during a special election in 2009, is at the center of a “controversy” in the wake of allegations that she called Republican Senate President David “Blackjack” Williams a naughty name. We weren’t there to hear what she called the horse industry hater, but the Lexington Herald-Leader, which put the story on the front page of Saturday’s edition and devoted nearly 27 inches to the story, gave us a pretty good clue: “a four-letter expletive that has the same first three letters as dictator” (the latter word the one Webb claims using to describe Williams).

I don’t do crossword puzzles, have never liked watching “Wheel of Fortune,” and don’t event play that stimulating numbers game called “Sudoku.” But even I can figure out that the word Webb is accused of calling Williams is D-I-C-K.

That’s pretty tame, because there’s a lot of people in Kentucky who think Williams is not only a dick, but that he’s a $%#$@%&$%^@#, a $%^&#@$%, and an @#$%@&#%^.

As for Robin Webb, all we can say is “You go, girl!”

Is Dictator Williams still buying Dooney & Bourke purses for any of his “special” lady staffers?
Is Dictator Williams still “getting down” at any of the local Frankfort watering holes?
Did Dictator Williams ever have a female guest in his hotel suite at the Capital Plaza who wasn’t a wife or other relative?
Is Dictator Williams immune to filthy language or dirty words???
Has Dictator Williams ever been involved with anyone other than his wife while married to one of his other wives?
Did Dictator Williams put an ousted former Transportation official on his payroll while said public official was under investigation by the Feds?
Is Dictator Williams a d!ck?! You bet ya!

Go Robin!!! More power to you while fighting off these sleazeballs who would rather play political dirty word semantics than solve real problems for Kentucky’s struggling horse industry.

Very sad David Williams’ old Frankfort roommate passed away. “Big Ray” Mullinix, who roomed with David Williams for many years, was run out of office by David Williams, as Williams has no loyalty. He found another Republican primary opponent to run against Ray, and Ray lost. David didn’t like Ray because Ray supported then Governors Jones & Patton on some projects for Dale Hollow & their shared areas of south central Kentucky.
Ray was a good friend… I saw plenty during my friendship & if David wants to keep up the howling. maybe everyone shouild find out what a low down, sleazy, arrogant liar Williams’ is.

Too bad Ray can’t speak from the grave…..

$5 million dollar purses and the industry is struggling? WTF! Try doing something to attract customers instead of blaming politicians - or don’t youknow how to?

  5. David Says:

The Herald-Leader could have accurately described Sen. Williams in 25 fewer inches.

  6. Ryan Driscoll Says:

Time for Plowin’ Todd and the Sodbusters to return to the chamber to loosen things back up.

Phil, do you even live in Kentucky, and if you do, what is your affiliation with racing or farm jobs? Politicans ARE supposed to listen the voters. In a time when Kentucky’s economy is facing crippling budget cuts for government and education that effect even more than racing jobs, it is important that arses in elected office not create a roadblock just to be creating one. Williams is more about being a roadblock & a dictator to members of his own party in the Senate, that other Republican Senators like Damon Thayer, probably have to raise their hands & ask for David Williams’ permission to go to the little boys’ room.

The Kentucky Senate should be a representative body for all of Kentucky not just for David Williams’ own self service. Williams has an arrogant, lofty, rude quality that doesn’t suit public service in our humble state. There is no room for people with his attitude when people’s livelihoods are on the line.

If it’s o.k. for David Williams to go in an out of state casino, why isn’t it o.k. for other Kentuckians to have that option, especially when there would be tax revenue generated, and casino-paid gambling help lines, not to mention purse supplements to help reclaim our own racing and breeding greatness.

For every direct racing & breeding job that is lost, you can count on many other job losses within Kentucky communities, and with each job lost, that is one more person enrolling for government assistance, be it Medicaid, food stamps etc. With that job lost is lost tax revnue for state & local communities.

Unlike some well intentioned people, Williams’ opposition isn’t about a “moral rightness” for Kentucky.
David Williams has been in a pissing contest with the last 3 governors, both Democrat & Republican. Why should his power trip override the best interests of all of Kentucky??

    Dear WTF Picksburg Phil,

I came into this game as a handicapper and bettor who fell in love with horses hanging out in the paddock of thousands of races. I know first hand and very well that you are right. The industry is inexcusably lame about treating current customers with appreciation and creativity. I also know that those in charge have very limited vision and imagination when it comes to attracting new owners, players, and fans.

But you are like a one issue voter in an election who fails to look at the total set of issues with perspective and shouts out venomously without much understanding of complexities. Its great that we live in a country where you have a protected right to express your opinion, no matter how shallow or self-serving or cathartic it might be. But in this case, a $5M expenditure says nothing whatsoever about whether the industry may be struggling. On the contrary, it is a rare marketing effort from within the industry to stir the nation’s interest and promote the sport, which may in turn draw more customers to racing.

    So, PP, WTF back atcha.

i have only this to say: I REALLY RESPECT THOSE THAT USE THEIR LEGAL NAME & NOT STUPID KIDS STUFF USER NAMES…

BOY, I FEEL REALLY GOOD NOW >> wtf <<< there’s your lower case

Phil. Hello. The $5 million purse is for a showdown between Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta at a track that takes place in ARKANSAS at Oaklawn Park. I’m guessing they would have people travelling from the 4 corners of the USA if they could pull it off.

  11. Ryan Driscoll Says:

GET EM’ CAPT. If I would have bit my tongue for 20 years, I would probably still have a job in racing. Good for Mr. Cella. About time for a bold move. Seniors get in free on Weds, dollar hotdogs on Thursday, start a facebook page, a race with all gray horses…….Racing keeps rehashing the same tired stuff and it ain’t working.

  12. Graeme Beaton Says:

    Phil

This is part of the reason Oaklawn can offer $5m - slot machine knock offs.

    http://www.oaklawn.com/Gaming/Instant_Racing

Recognize then that this is the same issue that separates Williams from the Kentucky racing industry. Oaklawn has alternative gaming. Kentucky does not.

  13. Bill O'Gorman Says:

Let me see if I understand this: racing can only exist by virtue of the sort of adults[?] that watch the video games in Graeme Beaton’s link?

Doesn’t anybody think that’s just a little bit sad, in every sense?

On another note, presumably [ how would I know] if Oaklawn is trying to get Rachel and Zenyatta it must be a major track. So, if it is, and on the assumption that most people don’t set out to commit “vehicular homicide”, how come last week saw such wall to wall vilification of someone who had been leading trainer there many times?

Just a couple of thoughts to be going on with.

  14. Aunt Bea Says:

Eugene, as my daughters would say, that legal name stuff is so yesterday! Speak up, people!!

  15. D. Masters Says:

Seems to me that if this Williams is so reviled by many KY horse industry folks (and apparently, Ms Webb), he probably is screwing up much more in the good old Commonwealth.

If someone is a POS in one area, they are usually a POS in many others. What I don’t understand is who votes for this troll?????…and how the hell did he get a major leadership role?????
